New Cleopatra 46B delivered to Kambur

Fishing company Kambur, based at Hafnarfj√∂r√įur in Iceland, has taken delivery of a new Cleopatra 46B dedicated longliner from Trefjar. The new fully shelterdecked boat replaces an older vessel of the same name.

Kristj√°n HF-100 is designed to operate year-round as an automated longliner with a Mustad system, comprising hauler, baiter and rack storage system enclosed under the shelterdeck aft, and the hauler is positioned in a separate compartment on the starboard side. The deck equipment for handling catches is supplied by St√°lorka and the pre-chiller and icemaker are from Kapp.

The midships fishroom is built to hold 72 x 460 litre tubs

Skippered alternately by Atli Freyr Kjartansson og Sverrir Thór Jónsson, the 30gt Kristján measures 14 metres overall.

The main engine is an 880hp Doosan 4V222TI powering a ZF 665 V-drive reduction gear. There is also a Scam/FPT/Linz 84kW (60kVA) genset supplied by √Āsafl, which also supplied the TMP landing crane.

Kristj√°n has safety equipment from Viking and the Furuno electronics on board are supplied and fitted by Brimr√ļn, and include a link between the autopilot and the hydraulic side thrusters which are activated automatically to keep the boat on the line while hauling.

There is a heated oilskin store on the main deck and accommodation on board for a crew of six in four cabins. The accommodation area includes a spacious galley and a toilet and shower plus a washing machine and dryer. The galley is fitted out with every convenience and Kristj√°n is designed to be able to work trips of several days if required.
