Bjørnson for Brønnøysund

Jemar Norpower has delivered a new 36-foot Malo Sjark to skipper Bjørn-Kåre Kristiansen who fishes from Brønnøysund in the north of Norway. This is the first of three such orders for this year, which marks 50 years from the delivery of the first Malo Sjark.

Bjørnson is 10.99 metres long with a 4.45 metre beam and is rigged for netting with deck equipment from Lorentzen Hydraulikk that includes an LHG 1200 net hauler with a 1200kg pull, a netstacker, a 500kg anchor winch and winches for the landing derrick.

The engine is a 300hp, 9.3 litre Nogva Scania Marine D109-70M driving a Nogva four-bladed propeller via a Nogva gearbox with a 2.95:1 reduction. The side thruster is an SP300 from Sleipner Hydraulisk, who also fitted the hydraulics on board.

Bjørnson has plenty of deck space aft of the wheelhouse and there is an 18 cubic metre fishroom.

The forward section is designed with three berths below, as well as shower and toilet facilities and a well-equipped galley.

The wheelhouse is fitted out with a Norsap chair facing the electronics supplied by Navico, Oddstøl Elektronikk and Retronic on the starboard side and a dining table and crew area on the port side.
