The FKA system led to a change in fishery and the ordering of a new fishing vessel
”After the FKA was introduced I chose seafood fishery – industrial fishing rights were sold off or exchanged for seafood fishery” explains skipper Kurt Adsersen about why he decided to build a new vessel. ”The old ship was a combination vessel, I have now commited myself solely to seafood fishery and that requires a vessel fitted especially for this needs.”
Kurt Adsersen, who is originally from Holmsland, bougt back half of an earlier Esbjerg ship in 1990. In 1995 he became the sole owner of that boat. In 2000 he got a new 23.9 m vessel which was equipped as a combined seafood- and industrial trawler.
From now on Kurt Adsersen will solely work in seafood fishery ”This is also to keep the costs for the equipment down” he explains further.
