Chantier Naval Croisicais have delivered a new trawler to Charles Jubé and Julien le Cleac’h, launched at the yard in Le Croisic and built to a Coprexma design.

The new GRP-hulled Théhic II has an 11.80 metre overall length with a 5.40 metre beam and a depth of 2.47 metres. The main engine is a Caterpillar.

The construction complies with the new Division 227 regulations, setting out stricter stability requirements for fishing vessels under 12 metres.

It follows the delivery last year of another Coprexma design, Zachary, built for owners in Lorient.

Théhic II is built for versatility, able to alternate demersal trawling for whitefish and langoustine, pelagic trawling and scallop dredging, and operating from Le Croisic.

It has a 7000 litre fuel capacity and tanks for 250 litres of fresh water. Accommodation is for a crew of three.

The deck is laid out with three net drums built into the gantry, two split trawl winches at deck level and gilson winches mounted on the shelterdeck. Tréhic II has a 12 cubic metre fishroom, and the there are chilled holding pounds on the deck capable of holding 18 boxes of live langoustine. The catch handling system on board has been designed to optimise work flows and catch quality.
