Trawler order for Jobi yard
Peter Husth and Svend-Erik Andersen have placed an order for a new 24m LOA by 7.60m trawler to be built at Strandby in the north of Denmark. It replaces an older vessel with a new one of the same length, but an extra two metres of beam.
They bought the 1988, Swedish-built Jeanne in 2009 and have been fishing successfully, but the time has come replace it with a new vessel that offers more possibilities, including an automated plant on board for handling nephrops.
The new ShipCon-designed Jeanne, with the order announced at the DanFish exhibition, will fish around 140 tonnes of nephrops, plus mixed fish each year. It will have accommodation for a crew of six, fishroom capacity for 600 boxes, as well as space for 350 boxes of frozen production. The hull is expected to be delivered from its fabricator in Poland in mid-next year and completed by the end of 2018.
The Strandby yard, where the old Jeanne had been regularly maintained and where the new trawler will be fitted out, was acquired by Jobi Værft in 2015
