New contract for Nauta

The Nauta Shiprepair Yard has begun construction of new vessel, with an order from Norwegian customer Havyard Ship Technology.

The order for the 81.40 metre overall, 17.50 metre beam pelagic trawler that Havyard will fit out for France Pélagique follows a previous close co-operation between Nauta and Havyard with the delivery of the offshore service vessel Esvagt Njord, currently in operation on the Dudgeon windfarm site off the east coast of England, which Nauta delivered as a partly outfitted vessel.

The France P√©lagique trawler is die for delivery in the second quarter of 2018. It will be equipped with RSW capacity for handling herring, mackerel, horse mackerel and other species. The fish chilled to -1¬įC will then be processed and frozen to -25¬įC in 25kg blocks.

The Nauta yard currently has eleven fishing vessels under construction, both fully and partly outfitted newbuilds, as well as a signal intelligence vessel for the Swedish Navy and a research vessel for University of Gothenburg. Since the opening of the newbuilding division in Gdańsk in the autumn of 2013, Nauta has already has delivered eleven fishing and two offshore vessels.

Dating back to 1926, Nauta Ship Repair Yard is one of the leading Polish shipyards specialising in building vessels and hulls, repairs and classification inspections of civilian crafts as well as repairs and rebuilding of military craft. The shipyard is also increasingly involved in newbuilds and production of steel offshore structures.

Over 90 years of its activity, Nauta has performed numerous extensive repairs on various types of ships. It has also designed and built nearly 500 fishing and special purpose vessels.

At the end of 2012 Nauta transferred most of its production facilities to the area which previously belonged to Gdynia Shipyard. The acquisition of new land and water area has created enormous growth opportunities for Nauta Shipyard.
